Part of a small chain in Greater Manchester, this Francs is owned by Nick and Louise Banks and was established 12 years ago. It has brought a refreshing addition to the scene and is deservedly popular. To start could be the fritot de chevre, deep fried goat's cheese coated in breadcrumbs and chopped nuts, on a bed of French leaves, red onion and tomatoes dressed with an orange and poppy seed dressing, served with cranberry sauce. The foie de veau, chargrilled calves liver and fried onion rings dusted with Cajun spices and served with bubble and squeak, vegetables and a sharp caper and shallot dressing.
